Pros
There are some wonderful, kind, hardworking people who will get far in the industry once they get out of there.
Cons
- Salaries are extremely low and almost never paid on time. Raises are promised but never given while the CEO goes on expensive holidays two times a month. There is a bonus scheme in place that was never clear and we wouldn’t receive bonuses even when we were told “this is the best month ever” in sales. - Upper management does not know how to properly manage a team. Zero transparency on very apparent financial issues with the company, leaving everyone concerned about job stability. - Certain issues were dealt with snappy attitudes rather than just by having direct honest conversations. If you have any questions regarding your late pay, missing pension payments, promised raise that you never got, etc. management will give you the same scripted response and scold you if you ask too much. Some of us are still owed our September pension from last year. - Unethical, predatory and misleading business practices. Even if you care for the artists you are working with you will be forced to lie to their faces if they ask certain questions. Some of the work is genuine, but most of it feels like an elaborate sham to scam new emerging artists. I really wanted to believe in the company’s long-term strategy, but as time went on I realized more and more that the only thing the owner cares about is making a profit at the expense of hopeful artists with a dream and some cash at hand.
