Pros
Schedule flexibility is about the best and only benefit you'll receive other than the employee discount without serious negotiations with your store manager or the owner of the store.
Cons
There are several cons but I'll only list a few that I've personally experienced: management makes special concessions(nepotism)to top selling countermen despite their involvement, or lack thereof, regarding merchandising/stocking; minimal opportunity for advancement, and regularly dealing with ignorant/disrespectful cistomers, and no benefits are offered in the door as an employee. Also, sales comissions were removed because a few fellow employees refused to do anything but work the parts counter and answer phones.
