The policies and decisions of this company can be summed up in a single word: ego.
You can feel the ego of the executives in every decision, small or large, trivial or critical. If you need an exception as a favor, you will be told no; it's just policy. But if the company needs something from you, suddenly the policy isn't so cut and dry. We were told constantly "this is not a work from home establishment" until we got ill and needed to take a sick day, when management would request that we work from home while sick.
Other reviews say that this company is okay to get an entry level position, put your head down and get some certs, then leave. I cannot endorse this course of action, as the executives have taken or threatened legal action against several departed employees. If they decide they don't like you, they will attempt to enforce a do not compete clause against you for the sin of getting another job in the same industry.
In my time at netxperts i have seen:
-a flex work from home benefit announced to great applause at a christmas party, which was then suddenly canceled the day after it went into effect, with vague explanations.
-a disabled employee requested a standing desk as a disability accomodation because it was painful for him to sit and work. Management took several weeks to comply with the request, and the employee's pain became bad enough that he brought in his own. He was reprimanded by management for bringing in an unapproved accomodation and they still took another week to provide him a (much lower quality) standing desk.
-a junior technician gained over 5 major certs (including comptia, microsoft, etc. He's currently studying the ccna) in less than a year only to be repeatedly told he's not good enough to get a raise.
-A technician was told he was being promoted to service manager, given an extra workload, then never actually given a raise or any managerial authority. He was led along for over 6 months believing a promotion was coming, and it never did.
If you are a technician, do not work here. Technicians are taken advantage of until they burn out and quit. Management views technicians as tools to be used. They will have no respect for you or your time and will hide behind policy and the law to justify it. Morale at this company is miserable, turnover is unacceptable, and the executives either don't realize it's their fault or don't care. Don't work here unless you want to slowly be made miserable and then maybe sued.
