Pros

cares about its employees, great benefits, flexible hybrid work environment

very large organization spread out across the country can make collaboration difficult, large siloed departments and "too many cooks in the kitchen" can make moving work forward difficult

Pros

- Incredibly passionate advocacy staff who are all trying their best to save the planet - I feel safe showing up as my true self and living in my full humanity - NRDC is dipping its toes into being more intersectional - NRDC is working hard to meet the unprecedented moment we are in - Some of the world's best advocates work at NRDC - Senior leadership is thoughtful, responsive, and seems to be in it for the long haul - As NRDC has grown, there are more and more changes to make the organization more "professional," and they are mostly very good. - After 10+ years at the organization, I still think this is the best place (at least for me) from which to do environmental advocacy

Cons

- NRDC's approach to advancing racial equity could be improved. NRDC's Environment, Equity, & Justice Center has in the past been side-lined in institutional conversations - The career advancement path is still unclear for those who are hired at the associate level
