Pros
Get to sit on secret lab chair
Colleagues only helpful in the first few weeks of the job, after that you’ll be “profiled”
Only good for entry level graduate from polytechnics/ITEs
Do not require much thinking
Cons
Very Underpaid job.
Many of the roles are not mentioned during the interview and job description, only till when you have started.
Please note that many of the job scope requires manual labour. Not sure why degree was mentioned as a minimum requirement.
This job is basically very similar to facility management and a diploma/higher nitec certification is sufficient in my point of view as your job scope is basically just to arrange for maintenance of offices, interact with clients in the shared offices, arranging air con servicing, dumping/emptying of trash cans, topping up on fluids/chemicals in the clients’ lab/offices, ensuring machineries are serviced up to date.
Please do ask clearly for the job scope before signing the contract as many of the terms are only beneficial to the company itself.
There is no “HR” officer/department nor employee handbook fyi
No black and white of confirmation after probation only “verbal” so as to protect the company, many of the items stated in the contract are very “gray” as most items can be overturned/overrun by the CEO itself.
