Pros

Fancy new building, paid holidays, monthly company lunches, employee discounts on product, room for growth in most parts of company, and flexible schedule. Production and accounting/admins are all very nice/helpful people and have been there for years; a very 'family-like' company. Company is evolving forward and slowly acquiring more valuable staff to help modernize the Nady brand and product line. My dealings with Toby Nady and John Nady have been completely fine. They're both accessible to discuss new ideas with and open to change, if there's a strategy in place.

Cons

The biggest con for me was the condition of the old building we worked in. Most of what you'll read on GlassDoor is true but that has since changed as of July 2016. Benefit package not attractive to most individuals. Company politics can be frustrating at times (as in any company). Not all personalities fit here. Some positions require a bit of ownership and accountability as upper staff may not have resources to construct a complete plan of your role -- Best suited for former freelancer, self-contracted worker, or 'go-getter'.

Thank you for your comments. We agree, the company has come a long way in the past couple of years thanks to our many talented, hardworking employees, a beautiful new building, new software programs, strategic review, and overall attention to detail in all areas. Our company has reinvented itself (important for all companies given ongoing industry/technological change) and we're very proud of our accomplishments.

Pros

This really has been a great place to work this past year. Everyone is friendly, professional and cooperative, and most importantly, you really feel like everyone is working toward a common goal. That's rare. It's also rare that you come across a company with a 40 year history that's being run like a start-up, but that's exactly what's happening here. It seems the company has cut some dead weight over the last few years and along with a new CEO and new department-heads the result is a small, cooperative group of people with fresh ideas and tons of room for growth. Every new project, be it designing new box art or deciding on an upgrade for a wireless system, has been an open cooperation between production, product development, service, sales, and design departments. Everything is being updated and improved such as software, product, workflows and pipelines. Sales are continuously up from the previous quarter and keep climbing, it feels great knowing that your hard work is paying off. I've worked in operations roles in many different companies. I come from a corporate background and I've worked several years in the harshest corporate environment in the country, Midtown Manhattan, and I think this qualifies me to speak to the average goal-oriented, career-minded, ambitious person when I say that, if you're looking for a friendly and cooperative environment with lots of room to grow, yep, this is one of those places.

Cons

Healthcare could be better (not a fan of Kaiser)

Pros

Hard to think of any because the experience was so miserable. There were a few very nice, loyal folks I would love to see get the confidence to find something better. The work was totally undemanding.

Cons

Oh my lord where to start? If you drive by the building you'll see broken windows and graffiti every where. Once inside you might notice the smell -- could be rotting food no one has bothered to toss, or dead mice stuck in traps. The place is INFESTED with mice! Management ignores it. The owner is so arrogant that he believes he's always the smartest guy in the room and knows more than everybody about everything, even though he's run his once successful company into the ground. The COO is the owner's wife, and you'll never meet anyone as dippy or scatter-brained. She knows nothing about the business, computers, people management, or anything someone of her title should. Staff either leave within months or stay forever, but the ones who sty have zero ambition and hate the Nadys passionately. Some of the most socially backwards people I've ever met work here. The pay was embarrassingly low, the benefits were terrible, the products are mostly junk, and the rich Nadys live in a mansion but won't spend the money to hire pest control at the office. I'm amazed nobody has shut them down yet for health violations. Bottom line: run far away from this company, unless you're desperate like I was at the time.

Thank you for taking the time to review our company. My apologies for the delayed response...I wasn't aware of Glassdoor until recently. Hmm...hard to know how best to respond to all the vitriol. As you say, "oh my lord where to start"? Well, for starters you might check with the Emeryville PD re the broken windows, they can explain better than I can why crime in our area was so rampant and difficult to control. The Emeryville Public Works Dept and District Attorney's office can explain the chronic graffiti problem (as soon as we'd paint over it more graffiti would appear the next day). And yes, we did indeed have some "dead mice stuck in traps"...but isn't that a reasonable place for them to be until disposed of? The C.O.O. is "dippy and scatter-brained"? Well, that would be me, and I guess everyone's entitled to their opinion. I do take offense, however, at the hurtful comments you make about our staff--zero ambition and socially backwards?? Hate the Nady's passionately but "stay forever"? Our company is not disintegrating and no, we haven't given up. We're proud of our company, our products, and our accomplishments. We're humbled by the success that we've been fortunate to experience over the past 40 years. And, most importantly, we're grateful to the many employees who have contributed so much and helped make this all possible.
