Pros
There are some very dedicated, talented individuals within the company. Claims and customer service consistently rank high among customers so I would recommend the company to anyone seeking a job in those areas. The brand equity is still there but I am not sure for how long. The benefits and salary seem to be on par or better than other companies in the industy.
Cons
Leadership has become out of touch with the agency channel in key markets. They are losing credibility and market share as a result. Insurance agencies are becomming increasingly dissatisfied with high rates and products that are not competitive. GMACI has discontinued one of its main differentiators by no longer offering OEM parts on repairs. This was a nice selling point when on rare occasions when rates were close to competitors.
