Pros

- Kind staff - Consistent work

Cons

- £9.33 (£10.68 for A-level) for a 40 minute lesson (most common length, as lessons are booked in 20m slots) - If a student cancels last minute - less than 24h notice - tutors do not get paid, however the company does get paid by the client - You are expected to complete hours-long training for free, which mostly covers the company's business model and how to use their online systems. - You are expected to complete extensive administrative tasks for free: establish relationship with clients, book and reschedule lessons, log phone call and email communication with clients in a virtual calendar, explain to clients how the business model works when doubts rise, log hours at the end of each week etc.

Pros

* almost all of the students I've worked with have been hard-working and motivated * weekly payment is on time and consistent * not a lot of micromanaging of lessons - you create your own lessons and teach in your own style

Cons

* allocation process of getting students is antiquated and seems as if some tutors are favoured over others * communication is spotty - you are encouraged to use group emails and not try to email individuals, supposedly because it will be faster but it seems to actually take longer to receive a response, if you get one at all * tutor team manager turnover is quite high * the pay you are offered is on an hourly rate but lessons are generally only 40 minutes long, so you need more students than you may want in order to make the money that you're looking for * While NLG 'finds' the students for you to tutor, you are expected to make all contacts and basically be the go-between between the parents and the company should the parents have any questions/concerns/etc.
