Pros
Average pay, fairly relaxed atmosphere, nice facilities, family friendly, flexible schedule, health/dental for full timers.
Cons
Unless you grew up in the town where it's headquartered, and your family knows the owners, be prepared not to advance within this company. There is a lot of favoritism and nepotism within the organization, at least in the corporate offices. They have a lot of turnover in middle management and worker bees, while the executive level has remained the same for many years. The main reason behind this turnover is the inability to advance within the organization and the unwillingness of upper management to take new ideas from their employees and utilize them. The status quo is strong. They built a fantastic new facility for the corporate office, warehouse, and retail store, but they may have over-reached financially, as the signs of budget cutting are everywhere. Multiple employees let go with no notice and no reason given, 401K option removed (because they were forced to offer healthcare with the passage of the ACA), and in 2015 they removed paid holidays. I haven't once had a raise.
