Theoretically honorable work. In practice with NAHC it’s everything short of that.
Cons
- Pay is WELL below market pay. They offered me 21$/hour with a masters degree and clinical licensure living in the bay. The pay increase once you accept a rate is 20 CENTS MAXIMUM - yearly. Let that sink in. - WIC department will make you post to the entire team every single time you pee. Literally. They MANDATE you post to teams messaging every login when you start work, every bathroom break, every morning break, lunch break, (bathroom break again), and when you leave for the day and they INSIST they aren’t micromanaging. Everything will veiled under “operational necessity” 😂 if you don’t post they’ll report you. - nepotism is rampant (please see EVERY SINGLE OTHER REVIEW ) - you’ll only get a raise or promotion if you play their games and love their broken system - no flexibility and EXTRAORDINARILY OUTDATED POLICIES - maternity leave AND family leave pay is ZERO - have fun / best of luck - they love telling you you’re doing “good and necessary work for the community” but unless you’re single and wanting to live impoverished - you’ll be on the same income level as the community you’re serving - most individuals who work there actually receive WIC and/or use medi-cal because benefits and pay are so low. I had coworkers literally working for WIC and enrolling people while also receiving benefits because pay is so low even after having worked there for 7+ years. ☠️ - there’s so much more. All I can say is BEWARE. Best of luck. And please heade reviews unlike me … 😂 - they constantly get sued for labor infringements (that’s low key a plus tho cause you always get paid out by the NUMEROUS lawsuits while you work there)
