Toxic work environment - MSR II Navy Federal Credit Union Employee Review

Pros

-bonus is okay (I got 2k this year) - benefits are good (7% match 401k, 300 wellness reimbursement, and decently priced health insurance)

Cons

-Management is toxic and passive aggressive. They micromanage a lot. The company prides itself on the fact that they don't push "sales" of credit cards, loans, etc but lately management has been pushing us to basically sell those items. - In branch, it's almost impossible to move up due to lack of higher position available. - Yearly raises suck (I got 2% this past year) which doesn't even keep up with inflation. Newer employees get paid more than employees that have been with the company for years. - lots of bullying goes on in the work place and it's very clique. - lack of training and career development. - no flexibly

Pros

This indeed is a great organization! People helping people is at the core of what this company stands for. No pushy salesman techniques, just genuine service. The pay was good, had multiple exceptional leaders and great benefits!

Cons

None that I could provide

Pros

Our core values are around serving the military and their families

Cons

Our hybrid requirements have increased in terms of office presence. Executives keep talking about moments that matter, when really nowadays everyone is just doing it to check off a box. At this point, upper leadership doesn’t really care about actual employee work life balance. The sweet spot was 2 days so we can stay engaged, but still have flexibility. Now we are just like any other bank out there. It’s also impacting front line stuff who are member facing and impacting their ability to be there for the members. A lot of these team members are over worked and now don’t even want to do more overtime when asked because they spend more time commuting. That’s time taken from their families and from time they could actually work
