Pros
I previously worked with several startups in the Silicon Valley. After moving back to Toronto in 2017, I've been searching for local startup to contribute to. While I knew I was slightly overqualified for the role that I was in, I thoroughly enjoyed the time at Needls and learned a ton as well. Role definition - The job was well defined and rarely have I wondered if I was on the right track. The team is highly motivated to help our users, which really showed from our testimonials. The work environment is competitive (and I like it) and rewarding at the same time. I never stressed about work once I'm out of the office. Office culture - If you're looking for a fun, growth-focused, creative culture, this is it. Great team building activities, townhalls, game nights, taco lunches. The office is also dog friendly so it's a huge bonus for me. Growth - It's a very fast growing business and I can see them doing very well in the space. They do actively promote internally when the opportunity arises. However, it is a merit based environment so you have to be fully committed if you're looking to move up. I personally have a much faster growth expectation which is why I left, but for someone who's in the business for 1-3 years, this is a VERY good place to be. Management - Michael, Justin and Jeremy are fantastic managers, and great guys to hangout with. They're driven and are inspirational to the rest of the team. The team spirit is very positive on the User Success side, and we generally can pick out the negative Nancy fairly quickly. Needls is one of the best startups I've had the pleasure of working with. They're going through growing pains just like everyone else, but there are opportunities for the right individual.
Cons
Because they're growing so rapidly, a few things can certainly be improved upon. - Onboarding process for new hires can be better organized - More cross-department projects is appreciated - More organized, continuous learning projects
