Pros
Job security and more importantly personal connections with former analysts
Cons
Too many. Long hours - as in be prepared to sleep at work especially during the months of January to June. This includes working weekends. (They will call you in on the weekends to just wait around for a meeting that could happen 5 hours later or not even happen). Yes, you are "rewarded" with health insurance but other sectors offer equal or better health insurance and retirement benefits . Employees are severely underpaid, for a sector who makes laws and controls budget - really should pay their employees, considering inflation is relatively high. Post-taxes, rent, food, there isn't much savings. It's like living paycheck to paycheck. I'd also like to mention that you should not consider this job if you are trying to go back to school, there isn't much flexibility to complete the course work. Maternity leave is also hard to receive during the months of budget.
