Pros

Good location close to public transportation, some great coworkers

Cons

If you're considering working here, be warned: this is an extremely tough environment where a lot of people do not last. Write-ups are handed out like routine and feel retaliatory to some. Strong employees don’t last, they either leave quickly or get pushed out. A small inner circle seems to operate without accountability, creating a climate of fear and favoritism. HR operates with minimal understanding of labor laws or union rules, and decisions often seem more personal than professional. Screaming matches and public disputes between coworkers happened regularly during my time there. Turnover is high, morale is rock-bottom, and it staff is often start job hunting within days/weeks/months of not being able to take it anymore. If you're hoping for a healthy, professional work environment, you’d be wise to look elsewhere — especially in a city full of respected union hotels.

Pros

Co-workers, room discounts (sometimes), Union benefits and union pay.

Cons

No structure, no policies, no competent management. It's a misogynistic boys club where they act like they do everyone a favor paying them union-required wages.

Pros

Strong support from owners and their GR Manager Positive working relationship with the HR department Valuable experience gained in the UAE's hospitality sector

Cons

Management's lack of familiarity with local regulations: This is the central issue. Management's unfamiliarity with UAE regulations, particularly regarding hotel licensing, led to significant delays and complications. Disregard for expert advice: "Despite repeated advice from myself, the hotel owners, and their experienced Government Relations Manager, management pursued a course of action that proved detrimental. Resulting delays in the hotel's opening: This is a direct consequence of the management's missteps. Lack of communication: Communication from management regarding the licensing process was often unclear and inconsistent.
