Pros
I joined a couple of months ago to help lead engineering efforts, and the experience has been fantastic. Nightfall operates at the exciting intersection of AI, distributed systems, and cybersecurity, building a platform that solves complex data loss prevention problems at scale. What really stands out is the incredible sense of autonomy and the respect for our time. We have very few routine meetings, meaning our days are spent on actual building, rapid iteration, and true innovation. When we do collaborate, we highly value getting together for engaging, productive whiteboarding and brainstorming sessions in the office. The engineering talent is top-tier; peers come from excellent backgrounds, bringing a great sense of maturity to engineering decisions and design tradeoffs. Additionally, the company fully empowers us with modern technology. We are provided with the best AI tools as needed - be it Claude Code, Cursor, or others - with no restrictions. Because our core architecture is already so robust and well-maintained, AI-assisted development, debugging, validation, and migrations are exceptionally smooth. This allows us to focus on core, impactful engineering challenges while seamlessly handing over routine operational tasks to Claude.
