Pros
Foster a community atmosphere with a handful of outreach projects employees can participate in, along with fun holiday activities. The subject matter at hand, antibodies, is a fascinating exploration in itself with a laboratory there you can get a tour of and learn about, fun no matter what your background. Very QUIET office, good or bad depending on your personality (was a plus for me)
Cons
For all the meetings and such that take place sometimes you still can feel very compartmentalized and unaware of what is happening "over the fence" with other departments or the business in general. Was difficult to foster any kind of long term vision of what was happening with the company or how to best leverage your position there to be successful because everything was so "hush hush". Gets lonely after awhile. When they get focused on a project, deadlines and working hours can be intense. We had several projects where many long hours were spent to meet deliverables. Excruciating. They do feed you at least?
