Pros
I really enjoyed my time working at NMG because the office was a great place to work. I made lifelong friends, and I left with incredible references from the owners. At least weekly, if not more often, we were treated to breakfast or lunch, plus we all would go to lunch together or arrange a potluck. They really try to create relationships rather than just a workplace. The pay is competitive and they reward loyal employees. I liked that they have systems set up so you never have to ask what to do next or when a deadline is which means I didn’t have to bother my supervisors every time I finished writing content or an article. The office is centrally located, free parking, clean office space, you get your own desk in a communal work area side by side with the owners. The hours mean I avoid traffic and still have my entire afternoon to myself.
Cons
Loyal employees means that it’s difficult to see a long-term future growth plan with NMG but I told them I’d be interested in returning if a senior position ever became available. They will give you opportunities to learn other areas within the company and even to collect a finders fee if you bring in a client though, so that was cool!
