Pros

- Coworkers are fun - Easy job

Cons

Remember when you were younger and the coach of your baseball team was always the father of one of your teammates? His son was one of the worst players on the team, he struck out everytime! But he still batted clean up hitter and played short stop every game. Welcome to Nugrowth, where leadership is run by people that lack degrees and have no real experience to be in charge BUT they do have family ties - which is way more important than anything else. - Pay is low - No 401K match - No diversity in the office - No women in leadership - Talent doesn't get you promoted - Not sure if a degree helps you or hurts you here? Sometimes I would whisper when I talked about mine because I hated feeling like an outcast

Pros

401k match, work life balance, and a great culture.

Cons

There might be days where you have a lot of downtime, so being self motivated and finding something to do is needed.

Pros

Your coworkers are great and the culture can be good in the beginning especially if you’re coming there right out of college. You learn a lot as long as you’re willing to put in the time and effort. Pretty laid back working environment for the most part.

Cons

Management (specifically leaders of marketing and SaaS departments) are only concerned about chasing the next sale. Everything stays very high level and decisions are made without communicating with any of the employees I.e. the “doers” the people that make everything work and not just sell stuff and come up with random big ideas. Basically when they say “jump” you’re supposed to ask “how high?” And it made for an environment of anxiety and distrust. It’s also a smaller company - essentially family owned and operated. Nepotism is 100% real here. You’re either family or very well liked by the family if you want to continue to move up. I also found that specifically the leader of SaaS was very unstable and confrontational - drinking on the job, doing drugs, emotionally driven, etc. there was no clear line between work and play which made for a very unprofessional environment.
