Pros

There are some extremely talented, creative individuals working here. That is largely in spite of leadership, not because of them. It's an attractive place to work: • Cool office in a great location • Some great clients to work on with interesting work • You do *a lot* of work, which can be good to establish a portfolio

Cons

• You will not feel successful or talented. After leaving, it takes a long time to unlearn that internalized scrutiny. • It is an intimidating environment. Everything is fine if you follow the grain, but once you push back, there is retaliation. We all saw colleagues fired without a word of explanation to the wider team. • You are not trusted to do a good job. Occasionally, you may be given a bit of slack that is tightly reeled back by micromanagement if executives are unhappy with a s mall detail. • Even for an agency, you are managed towards extreme utilization. You have very limited flexibility in your schedule, what you work on, and how you work. • Very limited diversity in the team in terms of age and personal circumstance. The workforce is very young as the whole, which is taken advantage of. People work longer and harder than their peer companies for significantly less money. • The environment favors the success of men, and that does not appear to have changed. Isolated examples of individual success of people outside the norm are the exceptions that prove the rule. • Pay is low for the area, benefits are subpar. This is justified by making you feel worse about your performance.

Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone on our team can do their best work and grow as professionals, I’m disappointed to hear that that wasn’t your experience at O3 World. Your comment about diversity struck a chord; it’s a topic that is very important to me, personally. We know that diversity is an area where we need to improve, and we are taking steps toward progress. For instance: We’ve hired a consultant who specializes in leadership development and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives to help us on this journey. We’ve revamped our recruiting and interviewing process to ensure a fair and equitable experience for all candidates who apply to work with us, which will help us to build an increasingly diverse team as we grow. We’re kicking off a series of culture workshops to give everyone on our team a voice and an opportunity to help build a culture that is firmly aligned to our values. Regarding your feedback on salaries, this year we completed a full salary analysis of every position on our team and cross referenced it with industry compensation benchmarks. We identified a few roles that were below market, and immediately took action to raise them so they are in line with comparable roles at other digital agencies in our area. We have committed to running a full salary audit every year to ensure we are paying our people competitively. We genuinely value and appreciate the time you took to share this feedback with us. If you’d like to discuss any of your feedback in more detail, please reach out directly, I’d be happy to meet up for virtual coffee to chat. - Beth

Minor quibble... Required to meet yearly goals but not enough on-the-clock time given to meet the goals.

Pros

This can be a good place to gain experience and exposure to a variety of projects. The team is generally friendly day to day, and you learn quickly by being thrown into the work. For someone early in their career or looking for short-term experience, there is value here.

Cons

The environment is very performance-driven and often lacks organization, structure, and clear expectations. Timelines can be unrealistic, with pressure to work beyond agreed contract hours to keep up. Extra effort is not always acknowledged, and recognition tends to go to the same few people.
