Cons
Low pay for highly physically demanding tasks Health and safety concerns during deliveries Hostile working environment They don’t pay for overtime and you are expected to stay for longer than scheduled most shifts. High staff turnover which means they are constantly understaffed Improperly trained management Deliveries need to be taken UP from the basement on the same day, there is no lift or cart you have to manually take the boxes up, which are often heavy. Management doesn’t let you get to know anyone you work with, if you so much as talk they tell you off for it. Management complains if you are not working every second of the day, while they are downstairs just chatting with each other. There is no “store manager”, just 2 properly untrained assistant managers who don’t know how to handle or manage a team without undermining them, insulting or disrespecting them in a demeaning way. They are often rude to you if you make a mistake. They don’t even till train you properly. Tills are often disconnecting and not working which affects the flow of your work. You get told off if you spend too long being on the till, even if it was busy. You get excluded by management and if they don’t like you they tell everyone else to shun you. You end up hating what you used to love, I no longer want anything to do with Koreans or working for them ever again.
