Pros

Free coffee, sometimes free food

Cons

The list goes on. For starters, if you don’t like micromanagement, I would stay clear. If you are a human and might make a slight mistake here or there, be prepared to get an earful. I’ve been in one-on-one meetings with high ups where I would be berated for over an hour just because there was a spelling mistake or a low quality image. My last meeting I was told directly by a higher up “it’s only a matter of time before you quit or you get fired” regarding the longevity of the job. I then proceeded to quit as I refuse to live in constant fear that I may lose my livelihood any moment. People there have all their emails printed out and highlighted because they live in fear that they will be next in the blame game they like to play, so you always have to have back up prepared to prove that you’re innocent. I’ve heard more tears than laughter. Some departments are the scapegoats for the higher ups and will always be the reason for everything that goes wrong in the company. They refuse to take accountability but tell everyone else that they are like that. They will force you to apologize for things you didn’t do, and when you do, they then berate you over it. People are on edge every day for the next shoe to drop. I can only speculate but from experience, I’d say that the positive reviews here are strongly $encouraged$. Leaving obsidian was the best thing I ever did for my career, and mental & physical well being.

Pros

Working at Obsidian Group Inc. has been an incredible experience, especially as part of the marketing team. The company is truly forward-thinking and innovative, always pushing the envelope when it comes to guest-oriented hospitality. The work culture here is amazing—collaborative, supportive, and full of energy. Every day feels like a new opportunity to learn and grow, and it's exciting to be part of a team that’s constantly striving to elevate our brands. One of the most rewarding aspects has been witnessing the company's growth and restaurant expansion. It's such a thrill to work on campaigns that help launch new locations, and there's a real sense of accomplishment when you see a new restaurant opening its doors. The leadership team is open to fresh ideas, which makes the work environment dynamic and inspiring.

Cons

Like any fast-growing company, things can move quickly, and you need to be adaptable. Sometimes it feels like there’s a lot happening at once, which can be overwhelming if you're not ready for a challenge, but it’s all part of the excitement of working in a rapidly expanding business.
