Pros

-Lots of opportunities to learn your skillset and how to lead; I learned a lot in my own field, which is why I stayed as long as I did. -People are very knowledgeable in their fields -Diverse backgrounds and very skilled engineers/scientists -You're able to work in and learn from other departments -Your immediate peers are generally very nice people; it is not uncommon for them to go out of their way to help you. -Company is involved in/leads some very interesting projects that have made Hawaii stand out in the STEM world -They have a great espresso machine

Cons

-You are constantly watched and monitored; you are not allowed to have any form of down time and must be constantly working -Lots of gossipy/toxic behavior from administration and management; they are aware of this and think it's just regular workplace behavior -HR has basically no confidentiality and it's almost a guarantee that your personal conversations will be spread amongst administration; they will quite literally laugh at you and recommend people to just leave (which many end up doing) instead of working with you -Very low pay compared to the national average -Archaic processes and values and seldom open to change -Extremely low company morale; management is quick to reprimand and speak badly of you to others but rarely celebrate achievements (but it does form a great camaraderie amongst peers) -Zero work/life balance and you are judged or reprimanded for setting boundaries. -**Not disability friendly -Not suitable for entry level -Really interesting projects and ideas but lack execution
