Pros

* Benefits are great: unlimited PTO, family leave, health insurance, free food in the office, etc. * Some people are great: I've made some lifelong friends here. * Work is interesting: it's what motivates me to stay (for now).

Cons

* Culture is inconsistent across the company: some teams have awesome colleagues, but other teams will openly say misogynistic/racist things in front of you. For instance, someone complained about people's accents in a public Slack thread, and a team manager has discussed giving more work to those of Asian descent because (in their words) it's "their culture" to work harder than Westerners. 🤢 * Lack of focus: upper management has not been clear enough about our company's overall strategy, and therefore each team operates as an individual silo and the company lacks focus. * Lack of transparency: product planning is done at the executive level and it's not clear to individual contributors like me how we could get involved in the process. It feels very bureaucratic for a startup.

Incidents can be reported to People Ops, your manager, any people manager or executive you feel comfortable with. Retaliation against anyone making good faith reports of harassment or discrimination will not be tolerated. We will also provide ongoing education and training, continue to improve our processes for recruiting, training, and mentoring diverse Octonauts, and to support protected forums for employees to share their experiences. Pros

Not much other than benefits. Some nice folks.

Cons

1) Let me start off by saying it is obvious that the leadership has no idea what they're doing. The frequent pivots result in a very disorganized workforce and vision 2) Some people are nice but many are judgemental. They have big names on their resumes, very smart people who come with their egos and can be difficult to work with 3) You are either underutilized or overworked 4) Job security. Leadership is not honest about the company's finances
