Upon receiving an offer, I was extremely excited about the opportunity to work for Odyssey. I really liked everyone I met and everything I heard during the interview process. Turned out to be a shockingly upsetting experience. There is no work/life balance - You find yourself working very long hours, including weekends, and your personal phone (which they make you use for work) blows up around the clock. Most hard work goes unrewarded. There was no foreseeable room for promotion. They don't take criticism well at all - if you attempt to question or challenge any of their practices, they will find a way to shut you up or get rid of you. I was constantly stressed out. They're all about quantity and pleasing investors, not quality. If you're a real journalist, this is not the place for you.
