Staples regional/higher up management still remains and they were useless (seriously OO why did you keep them on??)
Our store got no support from regional management, just pressure to hit ridiculous and unmeetable targets
They put numerous blanket bans on working more hours than your contract which is awful for Part-Time employees who are students (this ban took place at the beginning of summer 2017 and 2018), which I was for more than half of my employment there
Store staff were committed and loyal, but this wasn't reciprocated - regional would happily screw over employees with anywhere from 3 - 20 years service
They can't keep a promise or stick to their word at all (side point: get everything in writing - they'll try and worm their way out, but it saves you getting screwed)
Our recent Store Manager was basically just a Regional Manager who hung about the store and did pretty much nothing
Got paid minimum wage but when they decided to pay associates more, they neglected to raise pay for the TLs (which is really low)
They would expect so much from us and we would get nothing back, barely a thank you or an apology (we are due a LOT of apologies, but "sorry" isn't in their vocab)
Mystery shopper reviews became their new obsession and they seemed to care more about doing well in that than us actually doing our jobs properly - we just had to greet every customer and then pester them with questions and all that
This list could go on but thankfully I haven't worked their for a wee bit now so I'm starting to repress all memories of this place
TLDR; don't work for Office Outlet
