Pros

Long hours, but great place to work. Causal dress code and work environment. Relaxed company culture. Free fruit is given every afternoon, free bagels on Monday and free donuts on Friday. Company summer softball/kickball league. Employees are awesome! Yearly review which usually offers financial compensation. Great work-life balance.

Cons

It's a growing company and because of that the hours are long. Typically its a 9 hour work day with a 1 hour break which can seem super long. If a subscription doesn't publish on time, the employees are required to stay later than normal, which cuts into family time and there's no compensation the next day.

Pros

It's a decent place to start if you don't have any previous work experience. The work is not hard and it's nice to have funny and lighthearted conversations with colleagues. Job stability is also pretty strong so it's pretty hard to get fired unless you do something really (and I mean really) wrong...

Cons

This is not the place for you *if you have any ambition as it will limit your growth in a pretty substantial way. What you put in is not what you will get so don't think for a second that significant amount of effort will make an astounding improvement to your salary. They are also okay with letting go of folks with a significant number of knowledge and experience in exchange for fresh grads willing to take a low salary (< $70k - although I've seen lower). When I interviewed for this company, one thing they said is that they didn't want us to use the work opportunity as a stepping stone. But that's exactly how you should treat it if you really want to thrive. Do your job well, learn from it and if you have more time, spend it to improve yourself in every way. Don't drink the Koolaid!
