Sales reps are allowed to treat SE's as their personal assistants and secretaries. Sales reps more interested in abusing their SE's into breaking the rules and having the SE do the sales reps job for them to make them successful. No appreciation for the SE or the skill sets they bring to the table. Incredibly harsh sales environment for SE's, allowed by mid-management. SE's not supported well with cover to push back on inappropriate Sales asks. It's a popularity contest to determine success. If the sales guys aren't getting the lackey they want out of the SE, they will work to sabotage and dismiss the SE from the company.
Career path for SE is determined, it appears, based on a popularity with Sales reps, who continuing try to go around process and break rules. SE who tries to work with ethics and integrity is quickly black listed by needy and obnoxious sales reps who treat SE's as personal staff.
Complaints to Sales management of this practice went ignored. Finally had to leave the company for stress/anxiety and health reasons.
