Pros
Working from home virtually, dedicated Clinical Supervisors, Ok 401k match, Health Benefits, Employer provided laptop
Cons
OPTUM has restructured full-time therapist pay to hourly with a base pay of $25 per hour if Patients don't show up or appointments are empty. They have reduced our accumulated PTO, even for employees who have been with the company for years down to a starting base of 18 paid days per year. Therapists are expected to complete front end new patient paperwork and other preliminary administrative tasks wit with patient's prior to session, which is not the norm for most large scale practices. The previous culture of self-care and being patient centered is non-existent. Optum meetings are not about clinical care or staff development, but rather to give us pep talks on getting the numbers up to keep UHG/OPTUM stockholders happy. Many of us our leaving the company because there are few pros to working here. Executive leaderships is changing every few months. Everyone is worried about being laid off.
