Pros
Medical and Dental benefits are relatively decent and get better after 3 years (80% compensation from the company on cost). Friendly coworkers and not a lot of office drama. There will be free food once in a while, even if it's mainly leftovers from sales meetings. The external IT company they do business with is responsive. They are located in a decent area to go out for lunch, and they're mostly within walking distance. 4 day weekends on Thanksgiving and Christmas. 50% employee discount on wholesale products. 2 weeks vacation time, and after 5 years, it's 3 weeks of vacation. 5% of yearly pay Christmas bonus.
Cons
Training is not consistent/laid out/coherent. There is a lot of having to figure it out for yourself. Lack of manuals/general coherent compilation of how to information/guides. Communication in general is nonexistent. Workaholic office culture makes work/life balance unhealthy. Overtime is expected and not compensated/paid due to the fact they quickly put everyone on salaried pay to get around this. Their staff is worked past their limits before they'll consider hiring extra help. They frame this as being a hard worker and having high expectations. Micromanaging upper management that are unclear in expectations and overall communication on projects/work handed over. Can't trust management since any and all information will be used against you. No HR there since December 2019. The owner will curse out employees when he's extremely angry, and this is just seen as normal. He screamed at his controller over the phone when she let a person go 2 hours early (on their last day after giving 2 weeks notice, with no work to do o n her last day). The controller was also on her lunch when this happened by the way. 4 days of sick time for the whole year. Small company and little room for growth. Or if you do move up, you'll get screamed at and stressed out of your mind. No written contract for employment. Everything is At Will. They calculate the Christmas bonus into your salaried pay to make it look better. And they ask that no one shares what they got, because then it show's how much people are getting paid.
