Pros

There is nothing good about this company I really hope this company burns to the ground. Go to business school or something idiots!

Cons

They rip you off from your tips and earnings. Sometime they cancel your job last minute so they can take out last minute cancelation fee from your paycheck. Worst customer service ever!!!!! Dispatch is not useful at all and when you email them they don't reply for days even when it's urgent. There is barely any customer so can't make much money. This company is so poor at everything, very disorganized. I waste my gas and mileage and when it is payday they email you saying oh you weren't at your station for this long and last minute cancellation that they did so all of that is subtracted from your paycheck. This job is the most unrelieble job ever.

OrderAhead Response

Hi there! My name is Heidi, and I work with the driver ops team here at OrderAhead. I’m so sorry to hear about the negative experience you've had with us! As a company, we really appreciate your feedback, so thank you so much for letting us know how you feel about everything. I want to make sure I address all your concerns. If you feel I missed anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! --We have never cancelled a driver's shift and then deducted a cancellation fee from their paycheck. We will never do that. Cancellation fees are only deducted if the driver cancels a shift within 24 hours of the starting time. If you think we took a fee for a shift that we cancelled, please email us immediately and let us know, because that is definitely an error on our part. --We pride ourselves on giving our drivers 100% of the tips they earn. The only instance this may appear untrue is if your total hourly wage, including 100% tips, is lower on an hourly basis than our minimum guarantee. This may happen in Seattle, which is a new market for us and thus sees fewer orders. In these cases, our drivers are automatically bumped up to our minimum hourly guarantee! --I’m so sorry you’ve been having trouble getting in touch with us! We have dispatchers answering texts at all hours that we are open. We’ve also added a driver support phone line and e-mail address to make sure you can get in touch with us quickly. We don’t want to leave you hanging! --Seattle is a very new market for us, so it is very possible that sometimes a shift can be slow. We know it can be a little disconcerting, so we tell every driver in Seattle about it during their onboarding session. We know your time is valuable, which is why we guarantee an hourly wage to make sure you are being compensated well for your time with us, regardless of factors outside of your control (like how many orders there are). --Because we have this guaranteed hourly wage in place, we have to be more cautious. After all, we’re running a business—we can’t pay our drivers to sit at home! :) So we require our drivers show up to their assigned hub location on time so that they are able to accept orders. Again, thank you so much for leaving us your feedback. Our drivers are super important to us, so again, if you feel like I didn’t address any of your concerns fully, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Pros

This is a great organization for your first or second opportunity out of college. You'll find that OrderAhead provides you with opportunities that you wouldn't necessarily get at a much larger company. If you work hard and commit the time, you'll find yourself able to work further into what you're specifically interested in, and within a (relatively) short amount of time. You are guaranteed an opportunity to work directly with your team manager on a regular basis, which is a very positive aspect of initial work experience. OrderAhead is a place where you "earn" what you put in. The ups and downs of the company are a fantastic learning experience that will benefit you in your 3rd or 4th career, and that's important to keep that in mind as you build your resume. The best teammates at OrderAhead are those who are able to focus on their own long-term career goals, and not get too absorbed in team movements, adjustments, etc.

Cons

In exchange for the pros, you'll have to accept the longer hours and lower pay relative to larger startups in the area, especially in your first year. Also, smaller companies are by nature often less organized. Expect to work under a fluctuating environment where areas, like team goals/priorities, change on a semi-frequent (quarterly) basis. You'll go through stretches where you won't be particularly enamored by the work you're doing.
