Pros
Good colleagues and health/retirement package.
Cons
Very old-school organization. Highly hierarchical leadership model. Compensation was nowhere near competitive for the volume and complexity of work placed on workers. Internal career growth was unclear and basically nonexistent. When pushed to my absolute limit of what I could accomplish, I was always told to "find efficiency." No recognition of need to allocate resources and spend money on staffing to support me and my team and alleviate our crushing workload. This job was detrimental to my mental health, and in retrospect I wish I left it years earlier than I did. At best I'd receive push back against new ideas and processes, at worst I was completely ignored. Especially true for ideas/improvements designed to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion work.
