Pros
I enjoyed working alongside the technicians, who were knowledgeable and hardworking. Learning about the pest control industry was genuinely interesting, and I appreciated the opportunity to visit diverse businesses, assess their needs, and create detailed proposals to provide tailored solutions and close sales
Cons
Constant Issues with Commissions: I had to chase my commissions almost every other paycheck to ensure they were accurate, which was frustrating and time-consuming. Excessive Micromanagement: Despite claims of having the freedom to prospect and generate income in creative ways, management would become frustrated or upset if we didn’t strictly adhere to their rigid guidelines. Lack of Trust in Employees: The micromanagement created a culture where employees felt undermined and unable to make independent decisions. Frequent Staffing and Planning Problems: Chronic understaffing and poor planning made it difficult to manage accounts effectively and meet client expectations. Mixed Messages from Leadership: The lack of consistency in management expectations made it challenging to perform efficiently and maintain confidence in leadership. Pressured to Mislead Clients:I was frequently asked to mislead clients by promising services or solutions we didn’t have the resources to provide, all to avoid losing a sale. This felt unethical and put me in uncomfortable situations
