Pros

Great patients! The work itself was rewarding. Most of the physicians were pleasant to work with and have excellent clinical skills. The owners shared profits in the form of a bonus' at the end of the year (unless of course you were unfortunate enough to have a write up).

Cons

Diversity is nearly non-existent and does not appear to be respected or encouraged in the department I worked in. In my department the majority of nurses are Catholic, nearly everyone is white and there were no male nurses at the time I resigned. My manager was inexperienced and unable to maintain objectivity with her staff which resulted in Mean Girls wearing scrubs with a junior high school mentality. The manager was the head cheerleader. The CEO felt comfortable voicing conservative political opinions during hospital wide staff meetings. He apparently did not realize that some of us did not share his view and certainly did not want a sermon on conservative values in the workplace.

Pros

Overtime was offered, but not expected. Cafeteria discount.

Cons

It is always management that drives people away, and this company is the same. I did not feel supported by my supervisors. No action was taken to coworkers who created a hostile and negative work environment. My opinions were dismissed and that it discouraged me to speak out about ideas I had to improve the work flow.
