AMONGST THE GREEDIEST COMPANIES TO WORK FOR - Server/Bartender Outback Steakhouse Employee Review

Pros

Good money, when it's good. Very location dependent. Schedule flexibility if management likes you.

Cons

I've worked as a server and bartender here for five years. You are only allowed 3 tables, sometime 4 depending on your store and region. They take 3% of your sales for tip share every night, regardless of what you make on tips. 3% sales translates to roughly 20-25% of your total tips at the end of the night. If you get stiffed on a table, too bad, you pay the money. You are tipping out that much money and you don't have bussers, and you borderline see no return on the money you tip out. They do this so that they don't have to pay employees more than the absolute bare minimum. When the CEO of Bloomin' Brands made a 44 million dollars bonus last year, it's outrageous that servers and bartenders are the ones taking the hit for paying other employees. The company continues to take advantage of their people, raise prices, and it's only a matter of time before they see a worker strike.
