Pros
Some of the "perks" include: 1. Free food (because they can't offer legitimate benefits.) 2. Random acts of fun (Cuz it's definitely not fun for the most part) 3. Opportunity to be mentored by the great, wise and powerful, all-knowing CEOs. (They are the OD experts. You are nobody.)
Cons
Management - 1. People work long hours 2. Time has been demanded (not requested) out of my weekends. No work life balance. No respect for employee boundaries. 3. As stated in other reviews, management berates their employees in front of everybody else. Management is unprofessional, manipulative and abusive and people come out of these situations crying. No point in standing up for yourself. You're risking your source of income if you do. Not an emotionally safe space. Nowhere to run. 4. You are with these people all day long. Nobody is allowed to leave the office during breaks. Everybody eats together at lunch. One to three people purchase food for everybody. 5. Management is highly intrusive and overly concerned about people's personal lives in ways that make employees feel uncomfortable. I felt pressured to share, and then when I did, I felt my values, perspectives and interests disrespected and stepped on. 6. Company is toxic. Certain favoured individuals learn to be as nasty towards their co-workers as the boss and disguise insults as "constructive feedback." 7. Family-owned business - nepotism is apparent. 8. Organisation takes a top-down approach. Management dictates the terms of the corporate culture to the employee and employees are expected to accept it or leave it rather than contribute to shaping it. Religion - 1. People show up at 8:00am for bible studies and are expected to sing and read the bible. 2. During bible studies, staff is broken into two groups - "believers" and "pre-believers". 3. Staff pressured to attend church and various religious activities during weekends.
