- flexibility/ can WFH
- Fee earners usually have two support team members
- dress down days
- good for fast progression (a girl came in from Asda and was a fee earner within a year)
Cons
- horrific work volumes. Each fee earner will have on average 400+ active files (about 60+ files a month)
- usually all panel work (£250.00) legal fees and the most technical/ complicated matters ever for that price.
- normally can’t charge any abortive fees.
- it is quite literally a factory - there is no quality of service and have to rush to provide any type of legal advice/ report to client which leads to mistakes and claims.
- if the pressure/ volumes was not enough each fee earner is quite literally pitted against each other which feels like the hunger games. They will send league tables/ stats ranking fee earners for billings/ calls/ exchanges/ completions and even call stats?! And unfortunately this seems to have turned fee earners into brutalists.
- you are pressured to enter into referral agreements with local agents but the firm has such a bad reputation within the area and nationwide that they will simply laugh in your face if you approach them.
