Pros
Privately held, mid-sized, local, established company. Solid expertise and reputation, interesting projects, high-quality staff, nice (though not luxurious) workspaces. Relatively tight-knit relationships among staff, employee-focused company culture for most part, good retention. Hourly and O/T pay even for professional staff, somewhat generous time off, annual bonuses, and reliable profit-sharing. One of the two best employers I've ever had.
Cons
Old-fashioned and notably conservative in many ways. Not keen on social media, flex-time work schedules, job-sharing, or working remotely. Communication spotty on company issues, initiatives and general information. Decision making can be reluctant, slow, often tardy, with detrimental consequences. “Flat” management model not always a virtue.
