Pros
The pros at PPG are that you build a close bond and relationship with the guys you work with. I’ve met some of my best friends there. You also start to build a great bond with the customers/contractors there too.
Cons
Now....this is not a bash but the honest truth. Management inside the store sucks...it really sucks. There are some good ones out there, but there are more bad ones that lie and will throw their employees under the bus just to cover themselves and that’s not right at all. I was a former employee and my manager refuse to train me so that I could get to the next level. He pretty much held me back from moving up so I had to learn a lot on my own. PPG is a company that doesn’t take care of there hard working employees and I mean hard working. They give you a lot of empty promises and will promote someone who just came in the business instead of someone who has been with the company for years. That’s really messed up. Management will say you up next and then “boom”...you were lied to. The pay wasn’t good at all. I believe that hard work is appreciated and to my honest opinion....they don’t. You had people receiving 10 cent raises. People that have worked their butts off and got 10 cent raises . That’s a tough pill to swallow know you get that kinda raise and you put so much sweat and hard work into your job. Most of the good people that worked there left and that’s the reason why...they were not appreciated at all.
