Pros
Steady paycheck, industry standard time off policy matching 401k and healthcare benefits
Cons
Overworked colleagues, endless layoffs causing the remaining employees to pick up the slack, the net result is more overwork and stress and lower quality software. This cycle repeats itself continuously. Here is the illustration of "deceptive". In the last "town hall" meeting the CEO told everyone how great things were going (no mention of layoffs). In the following week there was a meeting with divisional VP's telling everyone layoffs were coming. The devastating (from a resource and morale perspective) layoffs came. Meanwhile everyone is still waiting for merit increases that management promises are coming in July. Of course merit increases won't be retroactive. As usual the executive bonuses are on the backs of regular employees who don't get the giant bonus checks or even fair merit increases. The never ending layoffs, poor pay and executive dishonesty contribute to low morale.
