Pros
The only positive aspect of working at Pacific Coffee is the friendly colleagues. They are the only ones who make the work environment somewhat tolerable.
Cons
The management has been struggling to provide direction for the company, and it shows in their lack of strategy. They always seem to have tunnel vision, competing solely with Starbucks instead of finding their own unique path. Furthermore, the company is severely understaffed in some departments, yet they refuse to hire more people, which leads to overworked employees. There is a lack of cohesion among departments, and instead of working together to solve problems, they often shift responsibility to each other. Additionally, when issues are brought to management's attention, they have been known to shift blame onto ex-employees. This lack of accountability is frustrating and unproductive. Moreover, the company has several compliance rules set by the parent company, which increases bureaucracy and unnecessary processing time. Lastly, there are no opportunities for career advancement, and promotions are rare.
