Pros
Everyone is enthusiastic about the mission, the science, and wanting the company to succeed. People are generally really supportive of each other, helpful and willing to jump in and do what needs to be done. Still a very 'start-up' mentality in that way. Very flexible (for most roles) with hours and schedules, becoming even more so during and post COVID. Pay is competitive.
Cons
Top heavy and self aggrandizing leadership. No way for lower level/junior employees to get promoted, but senior executives give themselves multiple promotions within a year. Bonus and stock system is broken. In order to earn a full bonus you have to work overtime and not take advantage of PTO. There is little to no support staff despite the aggressive growth so people are constantly asked to do things outside their job descriptions. Attempts to implement culture change are a joke since senior executives are the worst offenders of the culture issues. One of the values is Transparency, but there is no published Org Chart and the promotions that do happen are not publicized/are conducted secretively.
