Pros
-You develop a trauma bond with colleagues that are experiencing the same trauma working there and develop deep and long friendships
-If you are a “yes person” then this is the place for you.
-Pay is based on years of service
-bonuses for being certified
Cons
-Not a fair and just culture even though they promote that they are
-HR supports administration and doctors from the top down
-Nurses went from heroes to zeroes real quick after working at the bedside without a break or lay off during COVID
-Incompetent and detached administration. They sign “in your service” in emails. This is false advertising
-Whistle blowers bullied instead of supporting high reliability organization they claim they are
-Not a psychologically safe environment despite being told that is supported. There are even podcasts with NM nurses promoting psychologically safe environment at NM. Palos has not adopted this vision
-Qualities including being assertive, passionate about being a nurse and educated gets you bullied by admin who want you to quit because you challenge or escalate their non patients first mission or unsafe, incompetent decisions. Even though they claim to be patients first.
-Then you are deemed insubordinate for escalating and continue to get retaliatory write ups until termination
-Run, don’t walk if you have any kind of soul or integrity. You will incur moral distress regularly working here
