Pros
Good benefits and paycheck generally. The rank and file employees are nice to work with.
Cons
Very political environment, the worst I ever saw. Since there are no clear processes, everything turns on how you are appreciated by your management in case of failures. The company promotes normally people who stick around longtime (5-6 years), and not necessarily on the merit of the person. This is why there are a lot of mid-level managers and even directors incompetent. If you do not mind waiting, it might be a good workplace for you. However, if you see that your management is or becomes aloof to you, you have no future there and you are better off somewhere else. Since this is a Japanese company, based on corporate culture you are either in the grace of your manager, or not. The Asian managers tend to treat their team like a family and may take it personally if they find out you want to move somewhere else, even for a better job.
