Pros
employment? some flexibility for work schedules at the office I was at during the slow times
Cons
japanese management, who seem to lack the necessary skills for clear, open communications, motivation and feedback for US employees - the old japanese business management style of "you have a job, be happy you have that" doesn't always work well here (wait, this sometimes applies to american companies also) the communication issues are also a significant problem when having to work with or retrieve information from folks in japan contrary to what they always say, creative and independent thinking are not encouraged however, you are forced to often be creative when you are not allowed to purchase the necessary equipment to get your job done IT infrastructure and practices are poorly managed, unreliable and dated; what can you say about a global company that has their employees take quarterly "information security tests" so that they hopefully remember to not lose their laptops or disclose confidential information?
