Pros
I have worked at Pando since its formation and have found the work to be particularly fulfilling and motivating. In fact, I have told others that my time at Pando has been the best working experience that I've had. Charlie and Eric (the two co-founders) give me plenty of autonomy in my work and offer guidance when necessary or useful. They thoughtfully assembled a team where every member is accountable, thoughtful, and is brilliant in their area of focus (e.g, data science, sales, marketing). Charlie and Eric encourage all employees to development a strong work-life balance. This includes working reasonable hours to maintain one's health (typically 9am-5pm) and encouraging all employees to explore the city and surrounding area on the weekends.
Cons
One aspect of Pando that might take new employees a week or two to get used to is the startup environment/atmosphere. While Pando is venture backed back a group of Silicon Valley VC's, in the end, the company is still a startup. As a function of Pando being a startup, some aspects of the business are in flux. For example, Pando operates out of two office spaces (one in Palo Alto and one in San Francisco). The team chooses which office they will work at on any given week by deciding collectively. Another aspect that is in flux is the product itself and the data analytics. Over the year+ that Pando has existed, the product has continually been evolving and improving. Similarly, the data science supporting the sales process is continually changing and getting better. For some, the continual change might be foreign while others find the change, iteration, and evolution to be exciting and engaging. I personally have found it to be the latter.
