Pros
At Pariveda, there is an extremely open culture where you will feel comfortable talking to your peers, mentor, and manager about anything. Whether it be about growth opportunities or life advice, they come from a knowledgeable and experienced point of view that will help you in your career, at Pariveda or elsewhere. While other software consulting firms may send you alone to a client or put you in a 50 person team, Pariveda puts you in small teams with smart experienced consultants, tackling tough problems where you can leverage your creativity. Pariveda averages a new project for each consultant about every 9 months which means you have great exposure to the industry and various client environments. Compared to the greater software development industry, you are going to learn your technical skills much faster with greater exposure and training but you also learn important soft skills that help ensure career success. Pariveda also has one of the most extensive and straight-forward career progression structures. You are never surprised by the 6-month reviews because your teammates and mentor are good at communicating what you should be working on next to make it to the next level. This means your career accelerates with a promotion almost every year.
Cons
While Pariveda tries very hard not to burden consultants with long work hours, there are weeks where I've worked 45 hours between client work and outside Pariveda training/internal clubs/happy hours/etc. Across the company, these long weeks seem to happen to most consultants every 6-9 months but the rest of the weeks are 40-42 hr weeks. Pariveda won't shun you for not being interested in growth but a lot of effort is spent on growing consultants to become the greatest they can be. If you are not interested in growing your career, you'll miss out on a lot of the benefits Pariveda has to offer. As a consultant here you are challenged with becoming a great generalist. What this means is that you won't become the DB guy or the Scala expert you will become a software consultant who can jump into nearly any technical and (with training) business problem and find the best solution.
