Pros

Good opportunities to learn direct sales, build relationships, gain understanding. Good people across the trade.

Cons

Universally hated by other departments, outdated culture of "force the sale", "all customers are idiots" and similar idiotic views. Co-Workers get fired at a moments notice for tiny infractions and a culture of denial means problems rarely get addressed. Expect to work 6 days a week 12 hours a day and most of your work to be ignored or downplayed.

Pros

This job has been amazing in teaching me negotiating skills and how to sell. With un-capped commissions, it can be very lucrative.

Cons

Work life balance is non-existent with the industry, this place is no different. You can expect to work 9-6 or 10-7 6 days a week. You will have to work two weeks straight towards the end of the month. Just like with any dealer, if you're not selling you will not be eating. Partner the frustration of not making money with the fact that your manager more than likely will treat you with disrespect if you make any mistakes and you have a pretty bad taste in your mouth.
