Pros

You get experience with forklift, tools, building materials and decent customers.

Cons

On your feet for at least 60 hours a week. You must plan from 8am to 10pm monday through friday. Management doesn't train. Management is incompetent. Management clock watches and b's about 1 minute tardy but wants you to work hours of overtime. You must keep your standards to a minimum or else management will feel "threatened" and sabotage or fire you. You'll get in at least one fight with a co-worker within your first year. job is dangerous due to lack of training, incompetent management and lack of accountability from management and overworked staff. Seen the most accidents of any warehouse I've been in from crashed trucks, fallen bundles of 1 ton plywood, forklifts crashing, trucks early departure-ing at the dock doors, spilled pallets, forklift tip-overs and racking failures. In fact, one employee almost lost his life because a concrete slab fell onto him and he was hospitalized for 6 months (manager didn't take accountability and so he wasn't reprimanded.)

Pros

Work with Outside Sales rep to coordinate fabrication orders of raw product. Comfortable office, good hours, no OT required.

Cons

Spotty training offered... some favoritism shown to tenured employees... some of the Outside Reps can be divas (actually a norm in many sales environments though)
