Pros

pay is competitive within the tech industry, and the benefits have improved with time/growth of the company. end of list.

Cons

Senior Leadership. Every issue within the organization can be traced back to the failures thay come from the higher echelons. Be it implementing a new shiny system that doesn't align with others, or absolutely half baked ideas being launched and forced into implementation even if it just creates chaos and confusion. This is systemic across all orgs and is due to the "ego lead" mentality of most senior leaders. Unless you are a sycophant or apart of the inner circle, promotions just don't happen. Most people being brought in are close to other leaders even if they lack relevant experience or any leadership acumen. This is seriously hurting retention. Most people don't make it more than a couple of years, and the only ones who stay have their options near fully vested. Too many cooks in an over crowded kitchen. There are too many Sr. Directors and VP's within the organization that have been here too long. They interject themselves into different projects and tasks that they have nothing to do with, and use their title to impose their will. Removing any and all ownership for the teams who actually are responsible for it. This creates a bureaucratic road map that is impossible to navigate and nothing gets done because five different people all think they have final say in something and none of them can agree (right back to ego leading).

Thank you for your candid feedback and for your years of service at Pax8. It's clear how strongly you feel, and I take your comments seriously. I'm sorry to hear about your frustrations regarding leadership, organizational structure, and opportunities for growth. Your experience is not what we aspire to, and we want all team members to feel valued, empowered, and part of our journey forward. I understand that trust in leadership and clear, effective communication are critical, and we are committed to ongoing improvement in these areas. While change can be challenging and sometimes slow, senior leaders are actively working on listening to feedback—both informal and from surveys—and collaborating with employees at all levels to implement meaningful solutions. We have more on this to share soon. We also continually review our processes around recognition and advancement to ensure fairness and transparency. Thank you again for voicing your concerns and your commitment to Pax8. We appreciate the opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue. If you've not done so already, I'd encourage you to work with your leader, or if that is not possible, your people business partner, on this issue to try and find a way forward.

Pros

Strong individual contributors who are partner-centric. New office is nice for hybrid work.

Cons

What was once a strong culture has eroded significantly due to poor leadership, misaligned talent in key roles, and a chronic lack of strategic direction and communication. Tenure or relationships are rewarded over competence, and those at the top protect each other — even when decisions have negatively impacted the business and/or partners. People are treated as revenue-generating assets, not human beings. Leadership is so deeply disconnected from the real problems that have persisted for years.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear that our people, partner focus, and hybrid workspace stood out positively for you—these remain core to who we are. We also recognise that maintaining a strong culture as we grow takes ongoing focus. We continue to invest in strengthening leadership capability, improving how we communicate and align on strategy, and creating more consistent ways for feedback to be heard and acted on across the business. We know there’s always more to do in these areas, and insights like this play an important role in helping us improve and we hope you took time to share this feedback internally via leadership or our anonymous channels whilst you worked with us. We appreciate you sharing your experience and wish you all the best for the future.
