Pros

You will meet and form amazing relationships in a small community.

Cons

You will never meet your boss, you manage yourself, you train yourself, you will only hear from your boss if you are messing up. If an advertiser doesn’t want to pay their bill and it gets written off, goes to collections or they call the office and say “hey, I don’t want to pay this…blah blah”. It is well known in the community and with certain advertisers that they can call and have the amount adjusted off. That money is then taken out of your check. Paxton Media Group doesn’t invest or reward their employees. There is no employee satisfaction. You learn on the job and then get yelled at and will receive scathing emails for not doing it the way they do it. There are so many inconsistencies in how they do things. If you are sick, on vacation or in the hospital, you still have to work. They eliminate positions and take that persons word and put it on another person. When someone quits, they won’t fill that position and will put that work on another person all without compensation. They can’t seem to explain how much the Advertising Account Executives are being paid for commissions and you have to ask multiple times for your reports, your goals and even then you probably won’t receive them. Imagine being paid and not knowing how it was figured or calculated. I reported being sexually harassed to the President of the Company to only have that guy receive a promotion. I applied for disability and the next week, I received a call from the President of the company telling me I was relieved of my duties and that my services were no longer needed.

Pros

• work remotely • some of the coworkers are fun to work with • job is pretty easy despite the stress • pay is ok • direct manager is definitely someone who will work with you if you're struggling • raises are a thing, you just have to advocate for yourself • benefits are good (dental and optical are optional) • 2 weeks vacation for fulltimers

Cons

• the overtime is constant • most are disillusioned • we used to have creativity but because of increasing workload, the work churned out is subpar in quality • everyone is overworked and stressed. there's not really any work/life balance • feels like on call 24/7
